![]() ![]() Plot: The book was a bit short, but that's fine: a book ends where it ends. This is a really great book! As a teacher, I highly recommend it for use in high school classrooms. Which is sad, cause it was a great premise for a book. ![]() I gave this a try cause it was free, but I won't keep up on this series. I'm going to assume it means that Dani recognizes people from her current life in the past life, but this part of the description is a bit misleading (I was waiting the entire book for this to happen).Ģ.) You never find out why she is flipping between worlds and the end of the book smacks you on the head with this – but it isn't an answer, just a large cliffhanger to keep you 'm not interested. Nowhere in this book does it talk about another character who is also dreaming about the past like this. There are also some unanswered questions.ġ.) The description of this books says “And when she finds she is not alone in being able to flip between the two worlds, life, love and death become increasingly disturbing”. Especially enough to run to England to try and “find yourself” but then spend the entire time mourning what you left behind. It just didn't flow properly.ĭani also cuts off everybody in her life at one point because she is mad and that just doesn't make since. Then in like 6 pages, he tells her that he will always be there for her and they will find the reason. However, she kind of falls off the deep end and makes some crazy decisions.ĭanielle tells Ben about these crazy dreams and he tells her they are happening for a reason and starts to help her research (aThere are parts where it seems like his character is written one way and then the personality of the character changes for example, there is a scene where he is in the car and he gets upset about the fact that Dani keeps passing out and he is “left to pick up the pieces” when that happens and explaining to others what is going on. I get that she thinks she is crazy especially when she learns her dreams have actually happen. You go through this book watching these two swoon over each other and find water sources cause apparently, that makes the lovin that much better for them.ĭanielle is all over the place mentally. The only reason that I could tell was because Danielle felt connected to Ben which makes since sine she is dreaming about Robert, who looks exactly like Ben. You were basically told they were in love rather than being shown the love developing or why the characters fall in love. Now, I can get behind soul mates and falling in love at first sight if it is done right. Ok, when I say meet, I mean she sees him in a restuaruant and then somewhat stalks him town for a week until she gathers the courage to introduce herself to him. She lives in the modern world as Danielle where she meets Ben. After that, she starts having flashbacks while dreaming to the 1870's and she sees the world as Caroline. Danielle has an accident in the first several pages of the book. She didn't act like any 18 year old girl I have ever been around and she just fell very flat as a character. I liked Danielle's character in the beginning of the book and by the end, I just couldn't relate. I had high hopes for this book and it just fell really really flat. It had a unique idea and I love time travel books so I was really hoping it would have a strong set. This book was kind of odd the way it was set up with the past flashbacks. So, you know the synopsis of the book from reading that. I'm not really sure what this books premise was or what actually happened. I'm doing that now for I think the first or second time. 1.I rarely ever rate a book a one star if I finish it. After racking up more than 40 million streams and garnering acclaim from NPR, Wonderland Magazine, Billboard, Atwood Magazine, and more, he properly made his debut earlier this year with Melchor Lullaby Hotline, Vol. Picking up steam, his single “Real Estate” gained impressive traction leading up to the 2020 SUMMER CAMP EP. Joy, Dodie, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, and JS Ondara. Moving to Los Angeles during 2018, he had sessions with everyone from Charlie Puth to The Chainsmokers, and has also toured alongside Mt. But in reality, he got there by singing for mobsters “well-suited insurance guys” at pizza parlors, getting an Opera degree, playing thousands of hours in various dives, churches, and restaurants (sometimes in the same day), and driving across the country to the West Coast in an old Toyota Camry (twice). Long story short, this proud Jersey boy picked up a guitar and eventually fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a musician in Los Angeles. Adam Melchor’s journey thus far has been far from conventional. ![]()
